Schaats sokken / Skating socks

Ik ben begonnen aan de nieuwe sokken van Sockamania. Ze zijn eigenlijk meer ontworpen als een soort Kerstsokken in rood en wit genaamd Peppermint Sticks zoals die zuurstokjes. Maar ik had nog een restje dunne noorse sokkenwol liggen en nog een bol blauwe wol, Anna Belle "Lady Soft". Door de strepen in deze kleuren zie ik er iedere keer rode hartjes op verschijnen zoals in de Friese Vlag. Iedere keer moet ik aan de "Elfstedentocht" denken, vandaar de naam Schaatssokken. De sokken zijn ook lekker dik door de draad die aan de achterkant meegevoerd wordt, waardoor het ook niet mijn sokken worden. Ik heb vrij brede voeten met een hoge wreef dus deze sok rekt niet genoeg voor mij ik krijg mijn hiel er niet door gewurmd, wat ik heel jammer vind want ik vind ze wel heel erg leuk. Ik moest ze alletwee tegelijk breien want ik heb maar een restje noorse wol en weet niet hoever ik daar mee zal komen dus vandaar maar twee tegelijk. Doordat het patroon spiraalsgewijs loopt moet er of een jojo-hiel in of een ingezette hiel. Deze laatste wil ik eens uitproberen. Deze kan ook og wel eens te pas komen met de Roemenie sokken omdat je hier toch vaak met restjes werkt. dus dan zou je doorkunnen breien tot de wol op is en zit je niet persee aan een maat vast, deze kun je dus later bepalen.

I started the new socks of Sockamania. , these are actually designed as Christmas socks with the name "Peppermint sticks" like the candy canes. I had some leftover of thin norwegian sockyarn and some blue yarn of Anne Belle "Lady Soft". The colors and these stripes make me seeing red hearts appearing on the socks like the Friese Flag a part of the Netherlands. Every time I look at them I'm thinking about the "Elfstedentocht", that's why I called them Skating socks. The socks are thick because of the thread running allong the back of the sock but that's also why these aren't my socks. Because of my wide feet and high instep they are not stretchy enough for me, unfortunatly because I really like them. I had to knit them both at a time because I had only a left over of the norwegian sockyarn and don't know how far I'll be able to knit them. The spiral pattern makes it that you only can make a shortrow heel or an inserted heel. I'm gonna try the last one. I think it's really handy with some Romania socks because most of the time you're knitting with leftovers and do not really know what size they will become and now you can inserted the heel later with an other color yarn.
