Caledonian Wool

Afgelopen  september/oktober was ik op vakantie in Shetland waarover later meer.......

28-9 tot 6-10 was het voor de 10de keer Shetland wool week daar leerde ik deze leuke gezellige dame kennen. (ze heeft ook nog een tijdje in Nederland gewoond)

We hadden geen kaartjes voor de openings avond en iemand had bedacht om dan als troost in The Douglas Arms in Lerwick af te spreken en daar ons eigen openingsfeestje te houden.

Jam vertelde ons dat ze op het punt stond om een eigen wol winkel te openen in Fort William maar pas ergens in november ..... Jammer anders had ik op de terugweg nog wel even langs gereden.

Last September/October I was on holiday in Shetland, about that later.

28-9 till 6-10 it was the 10th time of Shetland wool week and that's where I met this lovely lady.(Who also lived in the Netherlands for a while)

We didn't have any tickets for the Welcome ceremonie and someone had the idea to meet at The Douglas Arms in Lerwick and have our own party.

That's when Jam told us she was going to open her own yarnstore, unfortunately somewhere in november otherwise I would have visit her on my way back home.

Ik volgde haar op instagram en facebook en leefde en telde met haar mee tot de openings dag

So I followed her on instagram and facebook and counted down with her till the opening day.

Ik kijk elke week naar de Wee sew n sew knitting podcast en Cas vertelde over een nieuwe wol winkel in Fort William...........de winkel van Jam dus.....

Every week I watch the Wee Sew n Sew knitting podcast and Cas the host of this podcast told that there would be a new yarnshop at Fort William........Jam's shop!!

En Wow!! wat een mooie spulletjes heeft ze en alles heerlijk op regenboog kleur uitgestald.......

en ze heeft niet alleen al die mooie kleurtjes maar ook hele mooie naturals

And wow!! what lovely stuff she's selling!! And all displayed in rainbow colours.

Ook verkoopt ze prachtige wol schalen en super mooie knopen die haar moeder maakt.

Ze verkoopt niet alleen al deze mooie wolletjes, schalen en knopen maar ze geeft ook workshops en is er een brei avond elke week op donderdag. Zoals ze in  in Shetland zeggen 'tak your sock for some yakin and maakin' 

Not only she sells these beautiful yarns, bowls and buttons but she also have some classes and a knit night at the thursdays. As they will say in Shetland 'tak your sock for some yakin and maakin'

Mocht je ooit in Schotland zijn en in de buurt van Fort William  en je komt in de High street een yarnbombed fiets tegen dan ben je in de buurt van Caledonian Wool. Neem een kijkje in dit leuke winkeltje, met al z'n mooie spulletjes en lieve dame.

Fort William zelf schijnt ook de moeite waard te zijn om eens een kijkje te nemen.

Kom je er niet in de buurt maar wil je toch wat mooie spulletjes van haar kopen ergens in december gaat de Web shop open...... ik houdt jullie op de hoogte.

When you're in Scotland and near Fort William and you're seeing a yarnbombed bike in the High street you're pretty near Caledonian Wool, hop in the shop and enjoy all this beautiful things.

Fort William itself also seemes to be worth a visit.

And when you'll never be in the neigbourhood but want to buy these beautiful things .....somewhere in December she'll open her Webshop. Keep you posted......

Helaas kan ik niet zomaar even naar Jam om haar super mooie winkeltje te bekijken maar gelukkig ging Cas naar haar toe en heeft een kleine toer door haar winkeltje gefilmd !! Super leuk!! (bij 56:00)

Unfortunately I'm not able to just go to Fort William to admire Jam's new Yarnstore but luckily Cas from the Wee sew n sew podcast went to her new LYS and took some footage of the store it was so nice to visit the store this way..... (at 56:00) Love this woman!! 😂
